Festival Banquet

Just prior to the performance of Janáček's opera Příhody lišky Bystroušky (The Cunning Little Vixen) as the keynote work of our festival, the College of Music will host an opportunity for Texas Czechs to mingle with with no less than 14 distinguished guests from the Czech Republic (who need a warm Texas-Czech welcome!) while enjoying fine dining in the Hilton Embassy Suites Conference Center ballroom.   

I suspect that many of you will arrive at the Embassy Suites on Friday (Baroque Orchestra and Choir performance of Czech music) so that you're already in Denton to attend Saturday's banquet and then to attend our performance of the Příhody lišky Bystroušky; please note that shuttle service from the conference center to the performance hall will be provided so that you won't have to fuss with campus parking.  

Prof. Jaroslav Miller, Rector of Palacký University, will offer a light address; Farář Mgr. Jaroslav Křivánek, Pastor of the Hussite Church in Olomouc will offer the blessing. We will be entertained by a short performance of a few of our opera singers, and it's even rumored that either Santa or sv. Mikuláš will make an appearance for the children.

Not only will this be a wonderful way to conclude the festival, but it will be the perfect way to begin the holiday season!

Space is limited, so please register early and let us know which of the meal options you prefer; cost of the banquet is $65 per person.  

For banquet reservations, the conference center has set a firm deadline of Monday, 12 November.

People wishing to attend the festival banquet should send a check or money order made out to the UNT COLLEGE OF MUSIC . . . at $65.00 per meal . . . addressed to:

Rolls, coffee, iced tea, and water are provided with all meals.  Soft drinks, as well as beer and wine, will be available for an additional price.  Please note that beer and wine is provided without charge to guests of the hotel between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
